The launch which took place at the Limerick Institute of Technology saw the exciting announcement that LIT will become the primary base to the new Limerick Camogie Academy.
Limerick Institute of Technology President Vinne Cunnane welcomed the announcement at the launch by looking forward to an exciting partnership ahead for Limerick Camogie:
“I am delighted to be here, this is another part of LIT’s development, great to be associated with excellence again and the Limerick Camogie Academy will be associated with excellence.
There is something there for everyone, LIT puts a lot of effort into Sport, we think it’s something that opens a lot of opportunities for everybody.
“We are absolutely delighted to be associated with Limerick Camogie, I think that it’s a fantastic idea.
“These things take a long time to put into place and it needs individuals representing their organisation and individuals that drive it, and this has been driven to this point today, so LIT and I are absolutely delighted to be associated with this.
“I look forward to seeing the academy excelling and people coming in and developing and growing and hopefully, the Senior team will still have the Woodlands Hotel sponsoring them into the future.”

The Limerick Institute of Technology has also committed further to backing GAA in Limerick, having recently signed a naming rights deal on the Gaelic Grounds a number of weeks ago.
The new Limerick Camogie Academy will provide a major boost to the Sport in Limerick and the development of the next generation of inter county stars.

“A lot of people who come through our underage activities end up here at LIT and they end up getting professional degrees and we love to see that whole association between Education and sport,” Cunnane said.
“The GAA is fantastic in all its guises and all its associations for getting into the communities, every single community in Limerick and every single community around the county is served by the GAA associations.
“This is a great day for us, we are delighted to be sponsoring the underage as well.”
