The 2016 champions have booked their spot in the semi-finals following a hard-fought 4-17 to 1-17 win over Ballybrown, who gave their all but just came up short.
The sides were level at 1-16 apiece approaching the final five minutes but up stepped Cian Lynch with a timely green flag with two more following late on to ensure the result.
The neighbours faced off in the TUS Gaelic Grounds with the Well coming in as heavy favourites, but Ballybrown, led by Colin Coughlan, did not go down without a fight, and made a nuisance of themselves all game.
Despite a defiant Ballybrown display, Patrickswell went in with a five point advantage at the break, having scored some fine scores in the opening thirty minutes.
Tom O’Brien popped up with the crucial goal, making the chance for himself with a strong run before having the finish to match.
Ballybrown looked to be out of the tie as the second-half went on, but Luke O’Connor would pop up with a goal to breathe some life back into the game.
They continued their fightback, and with just ten minutes to go the sides were level at 1-15 a piece.
An Aaron Gillane free would put Eamonn Kelly’s men in the ascendency before Ballybrown again levelled affairs.
Cian Lynch stepped up with a crucial goal with just five minutes to play, and John Kirby raised a green flag before full-time.
Gillane struck a magnificent goal with just seconds to play, and Patrickswell ran out nine point winners.
