WATCH: Geary unfazed by Galway’s physicality “It’s all about intensity now”

The Galway hurling team have been noted for their physicality over the past two years. Micheal Donoghue has a huge team physically at his disposal with the majority of the team standing well above 6ft.

In the forwards alone they have the two Cooneys, Joe Canning and the ever imposing Johnny Glynn. Yet, Brian Geary has highlighted his own side’s physical profile while admitting Galway may have a slight advantage in that regard.

“We’re not a small team either. Probably not at their development, they might be a higher age profile. They might be bigger lads but I dont think that we can shy away from them. It’s all about intensity now.”

With such a young team, Limerick should have no fear heading into the occasion. Many of the squad have won U21 All Ireland titles in the past couple of years. And while there is a major difference between U21 and senior, the experience should stand to the team. Geary has outlined both the positives and negatives of having such a young team in the final.

“They are young, just out of 21s and they’re used to winning. No fear is great but you bring a small bit of worry with that aswell.”
