Limerick travel to Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday evening knowing a victory will put them in pole position to qualify for a first Munster championship final since 2014. With the new structure of the championship, Limerick face into three consecutive games against Cork, Waterford and Clare after having a rest last weekend.
In Leinster last weekend, Kilkenny and Offaly both lost after playing in their third consecutive game so Kiely is under no illusions as to the challange that faces Limerick over the coming weeks but for now is totally focused on Saturday evening.
“I think if you look at last weekend, you get a glimpse into the challenge of the championship as it is this year… I don’t think they (Kilkenny & Offaly) enjoyed being out the third Sunday in a row.”
“We’ll have that come the final game, but that’s down the road for us. We’ll just have to manage it and see how things pan out.”
“But for the moment, our focus is firmly on Saturday.”
