Kilmallock ease past Doon in one sided Limerick SHC clash

Robbie Egan opened the scoring with a goal while O’Reilly added the second before the quarter hour mark as Kilmallock moved into a 2-4 to no score lead.

Kilmallock sent out a statement of intent with a comprehensive 3-22 to 0-12 win over a depleted Doon side in Bruff on Saturday evening.

Oisin O’Reilly had goals in either half as a Doon side without the majority of their first choice defence couldn’t deal with the Kilmallock attack with All-Ireland winners Micheal Houlihan, Shane O’Brien and O’Reilly in scintillating form.

Robbie Egan opened the scoring with a goal while O’Reilly added the second before the quarter hour mark as Kilmallock moved into a 2-4 to no score lead.

Adam English eventually got Doon off the mark from a placed ball, but they were too reliant on frees with their first from play not coming until the second period.

As such, Kilmallock took a 2-13 to 0-4 advantage into the interval. Twelve minutes into the second half, O’Reilly put the contest to bed with his second that left it 3-15 to 0-8.

Next up for the Balbec is Ahane next Thursday while Doon take on Patrickswell on the same evening.
